The Bells are Ringing!

Image
It's time for wedding bells with the arrival of Spring! This month's Designer Crafts Connection focus is on weddings: wedding favors, wedding decor, wedding bouquets...anything to do with weddings. You can hop to the next blog on the list (or go backward) by clicking on the Designer Crafts Connection button at left. At the recent CHA convention in Los Angeles, I worked in the Viva Decor booth and also contributed these three pieces to their booth display where the theme was White Wedding. I wanted them to all match and chose a harlequin theme for the guest book cover, the champagne glasses and the votive holder. Here is a short synopsis on how they were made. If you would like more detail, please email me at inkyfingers@bigriver.net. Oh, what a beautiful morning!

Such a gorgeous day here in Brighton, Tennessee! I'm stuck inside finishing up projects for my not-very-soon-to-be-released book, but I have all the windows and blinds wide open, just enjoying this super-dooper 60°+ weather. That little daffodil/buttercup/whatever is blooming at the edge of our driveway. We dug these up almost 24 years ago from an old homestead. They need to be separated, but still bloom their little hearts out every year. I also have tulips, daylillies, hydrangea, hostas and Jacob's Tears pushing up through my front bed. I don't think the back one will survive the doggy feet that have trampled the lilies and roses around the deck. I haven't even checked the blueberry bushes and know I have to prune my grapes soon, plus, we're moving the garden this year and should have already had that ready to go. I have such a rough life! :) Don't forget to pop back in Sunday for another Designer Crafts Connection Blog Hop! We're all posting wedding proje

What a great weekend!

This was one of the best weekends ever! We started off with a visit Friday night with my sister-and brother-in law. Larry and Doyle had a golf lesson on tv, while Janell and I set up her really cool new HP printer and dug through some old sewing supplies that belonged to her mother. I have materials now for about a million craft projects! Saturday, the ladies of Trinity Baptist in Brighton met for a tea to discuss our upcoming projects for the year. For such a small congregation (30 or so church member families I think. Don't quote me!), we have a surprisingly large number of charities and outreach programs. Having the best group of ladies ever also helps! Saturday night, Larry and Sorghum Hill played a benefit for the Concord Academy, a private school for special needs students. They had barbecue from Leonard's (the BBQ of my dreams!), an auction that included an autographed basketball by Josh Pastnor, the University of Memphis basketball coach, a football signed by the great

Let's go to the Hop!

Our theme for March is Weddings and we'll all be posting wedding ideas on March 13th. In the meantime, watch for the little green Cricut logo on nine of the blogs. Write the blog names down, then go to Julie McGuffey's site ( www.juliemcguffee.blogspot.com ) and leave a comment with the list of blogs where you saw the logo. You'll be entered to win your own Cricut Expression! Here's a little project that I made for the Craft Studio at CHA. The base product was beige yarn and here's what I did with it: Supplies • Acrylic yarn, white or very light beige • Crochet Hook, size H • FabriTac Adhesive (Beacon) • Quick Grip Adhesive (Beacon) • Smooch Spritz, Electric Blue, Citrus Tickle, Majestic (Clearsnap) • Gloss Gel, Emerald Green, Magenta (Viva Decor) • Glitter Pen,
